Who is Mr Aristotle?
Difficult to say given that he never visits the same bar twice leading the Italians to refer to him simply as ‘L'Ombra’ (‘The Shadow’). Some say he circumnavigated the world using only the sun and an expensive swiss watch for guidance. Others say he invented the game of polo simply as an excuse to put a number on his short sleeve shirts.
Some of the more outlandish claims suggest he is simply the brand personification of a website.
Whatever the truth of this mysterious man one thing is true, there can only be one Mr Aristotle. However, it is only polite that mention should be made of a few people that look after the operation whilst the man himself is travelling the world sourcing the finest experiences and sharpest tailors.
They say that behind every great man is a great woman – and behind Mr Aristotle is Elissa Kent. Elissa is Managing Partner behind the world’s premium experience voucher service. Elissa has spent the past ten years working in marketing in Australia across a number of brands with a particular focus on those in the luxury and travel sectors. The travel bug took a while to bite but when it did it sank its fangs deep. From kayaking down the Zambezi River in the height of summer to throwing herself from an Alaskan snow mobile in the depths of winter there are few things Elissa will not try.
Like many of the world’s innovations – the Mr Aristotle website was born out of necessity. Elissa was looking to buy her difficult-to-please husband a birthday present that would reflect his love of adventure whilst they travelled through Europe. She knew that there would be plenty to choose from but was amazed at how difficult it was to find anything suitable. Her busy schedule did not make allowances for hours spent in front of her laptop trying to find something that would appeal. A concept was born – a one-stop shop for time-poor people looking for the world’s finest boutique experiences.
Paul Kent – the aforementioned ‘difficult-to-please husband’ (a title he openly embraces) is the other Managing Partner, driving force and willing recipient of Mr Aristotle’s old safari suits. A self-confessed ‘travel junkie’ who blames his parents management of a travel company for his addiction at an early age, Paul was on his first international flight at six weeks old and has never lost that thirst for seeing the world and absorbing its diversity. Between airport terminals Paul has spent the last fifteen years working in the advertising and creative industry across the UK, Europe and Australia. This experience has equipped him well when he recently dived with Great White Sharks in South Africa…
Paul and Elissa truly believe that life is a journey of wonder and learning in which the more we open our minds to new experiences the brighter lit our path becomes.
